a sweet senior session. {orange county/brainerd high school senior photographer}

When we went cross country this summer to Minnesota, we were fortunate to have a spunky, funny, witty teen come with us on the trip. Anyone that is CRAZY enough to take the plunge and drive 2,000 miles with 4 kids, ME and a dog is pretty brave and maybe a bit nuts to say that it would be “fun” to hang out with us that long. Well, it was FUN and also made me feel like I was 17 again. I had the pleasure of photographing Alina when we were at the lake in mid-July.

Here’s my take on Alina and if you ever get to meet her or have her in your life, you are a lucky person: adventourous. quiet. great with my kids (they are your favorite, right Alina!??). poliet. kind. sweet. brilliant. reads lots and lots. TEXTS lots and lots. quirky. funny. a good pbnj maker in tight car conditions without a knife. a leader. and thoughtful.

We went exploring right down the street from the lake house and her parents lodge Woman Lake Lodge (which by the way, the lodge is a slice of heaven!!!). We found the BEST field of yellow flowers.

I love making people jump and this especially is perfect for a high school senior, don’t you think?

Alina LOVES the rain. We almost got together for one stormy afternoon but thankfully we opted out because it really came down and my 5D wouldn’t be happy after being wet! An umbrella shot with cute boots was in order.

and my ulitmate shots. these type of shots happen when everything combines together all at the same time and I shout “Holy Moly” and get giddy and want to do a jump while clicking my heels together.

Alina, thank you for being in our lives. The kids and I miss you and hope that you really would consider getting your bootie out here for some Disneyland fun this fall. xoxoxo.

Some day, Dexy & I will be in CA again for a visit and we’ll manage to get together for that photo shoot I wanted like 1000 years ago, when you were still pregnant and Dexy was still a toddler. Some day in CA btw when it’s not hot… like in December. LOL.
